SmartAlerts are a key component of our event management system and allow users to set up personalized notification lists to receive alerts for any status update, including changes to estimated or actual dates for shipment events (e.g., Cut-off Date, Sailing Date, Arrival Date, etc.). Inside the track and trace system, an event management overview can be displayed via a shipment timeline. The event management system allows the user to see actual and estimated target dates for critical events. Out of multiple events, a user can set their own critical events to monitor.

The event notifications are pushed out to the user via e-mail in a single combined report. The e-mail contains hyperlinks to the tracking and tracing system, which allows the user to view the details and documents for that particular order. The type of shipments that are tracked and monitored can be narrowed down by type of product, mode and country of origin/destination. By using BDPSmart tools in unison, a user can obtain a wide range of information from a high-level down to individual container movements.
