Argentina Customs Update

Custom Duties & Taxes – for import & export to / from Argentina – Important for DDP & EXW Incoterms conditions.
According to the provisions of the AFIP General Resolution No. 3134/2011, published in the Official Report of 24.06.2011, beginning August 1st, tax payments of Customs duties, including those relating to import operations and export without waiting period, as well as the rest of the settlements for Customs payment, shall now take the form required by the VEP (Electronic Payment Ticket-RG 1778).
Note that for Import & Export Process on DDP or EXW conditions, Consignee (Importer) / Shipper (Exporter) will have to deposit taxes and duties by VEP, only with their Key Fiscal, these funds can no longer be deposited in cash or check as allowed in the past.
Please alert your Shippers and their Consignees, who plan on utilizing these terms with Argentina shipments, of this critical new regulation.
