BDP Italia SpA opens Malpensa office
PHILADELPHIA and MILAN,
September 6, 2007 -- BDP Italia SpA, part of BDP International
(BDP), a leading global logistics and transportation management
company, has opened an office at the Avioport Logistic Park
of Lonate Pozzolo-Malpensa (Varese).
The new office will expand BDP's Italian network with headquarters
in Milan and branches in Bologna, Florence, Turin and Vicenza
and leverage its strategic location to support the entire BDP
Italia organization.
BDP Italia was incorporated in 2005 after the company's President,
Antonio Sgarbi, decided to introduce to the Italian market BDP's
logistic services for the chemical, pharmaceutical, technology,
iron and steel, machinery and fashion industries. The company
is an integral part of BDP's strategy to consolidate its European
network, which in the wake of acquisitions in the Netherlands,
France, Belgium and Germany, sees Italy as a further important
link in creating a balanced offering to bridge the United States
and Asian markets.
The new Malpensa-based hub also will carry out operations aimed
at further enhancing the foothold of BDP Italia SpA in serving
the international and national logistics and transportation
markets.
"The opening of a Malpensa office will enable us to not
only improve our structure and speed of services, such as real-time
shipment monitoring and trouble-shooting contingency problems,
but also to reap economic savings, leaving us free to deploy
our resources in the creation of customized services,"
said BDP Italia's Sgarbi. "The new operations center, staffed
with highly qualified air cargo professionals, will also be
responsible for supporting the other Italian branches in their
relations with a key international airport."
