BDP Project Logistics opens delegate office in Tripoli
SINGAPORE and TRIPOLI,
LIBYA, 12 August 2008 – BDP Project Logistics, a wholly-owned
subsidiary of privately-held global logistics firm, BDP International,
has opened a delegate office in Tripoli, with Libyan-based I.S.A.
International Shipping Agency (I.S.A.).
"We are excited to have a physical presence in Libya,"
said Luc Van Heygen, BDP’s managing director for project
logistics in the Americas and Europe. "We have every indication
that the North African project market will grow dramatically
over the next two to five years. Our focus is to build a domestic
infrastructure for new industrial projects expected to materialize
in 2009 to 2012."
BDP Project Logistics/I.S.A. managing director, Khalifa El Bleazi,
added, "North Africa is emerging as one of the world’s
fastest-growing markets for project logistics, and our affiliation
with a respected global brand like BDP puts us both in a stronger
position to support this activity. Combined with our intimate
knowledge of the region, BDP’s advanced logistics technology
and global network of subsidiaries, strategic alliances and
partnerships will provide customers with the most cost-effective
solutions to their infrastructure projects."
BDP Project Logistics, which is headquartered in Singapore,
entered into a partnership with I.S.A. in early 2007. In conjunction
with the opening of the new office, BDP Project Logistics has
appointed Mongi Zeglam as its commercial delegate for Libya.
Zeglam will serve as the company’s liaison, reporting
to Emanuel Scerra, BDP Project Logistics’ regional director
for Europe and North Africa.
In addition to Tripoli, BDP Project Logistics/I.S.A. has offices
in Benghazi, Homs, Marsa Brega, Melitta and Misurata, and is
opening another office at the new Tripoli airport. Supporting
BDP Project Logistics’ local forwarding activities, it
