BDP Project Logistics has opened an office in Aberdeen to service its UK project clients, particularly in the North Sea oil and gas industry. It will offer ocean, air, charter and road freight services, third-party warehousing, on- and off-site packing and crating and customs and documentation services. The new office in Europe’s ‘oil capital’ completes the BDP Oil and Gas organisation, which now has a presence in all major energy hubs at Houston, Aberdeen, Dubai and Singapore. The new office will be managed by branch manager Crawford Hendy and sales manager, Marc Clarke, who share over 45 years of experience in the North Sea.
While the North Sea has officially passed its production peak and the UK is once again a net energy importer, BP announced a multi-billion dollar plan to invest in the North Sea production over the next few years, aiming to keep oil production above 300,000 barrels a day mark for at least a decade. Major developments include phase two of the Clair field west of Shetland, along with other major projects in Scottish waters.
BDP International has also set up in India. BDP Global Logistics (India) is a joint venture between BDP and local logistics company Unique Global Logistics, with BDP as the majority partner. It will be headquartered in Mumbai with a presence in all major cities in India. BDP will target India’s expanding chemicals manufacturing and other industries.
BDP also launched its BDPSmart Vu vendor management tool in India, which provides logistics managers with unparalleled visibility of each stage of an international purchase order.
