press releases ::
Founder's son takes helm at BDP

PHILADELPHIA, July 19, 2006 -- The Board of Directors of BDP International has named Richard J. Bolte, Jr., Chief Executive Office in addition to his responsibilities as President of the privately held global logistics and transportation services company.  His father, Richard J. Bolte, Sr., founder, chairman and CEO of the company, passed away on July 5 of this year.

Additionally, Albert J. Fenaroli was named Chairman Emeritus of the BDP Board of Directors.  The former Vice President of Distribution for Union Carbide Corporation and company consultant has served on its board for the past 20 years.

Bolte, 49, joined the family-owned enterprise in 1973 and served as Vice President of its Northeast region before being appointed President in 1996.  In 1997, his first year as President, BDP received the President's E-Award for Excellence in Exporting, the highest U.S. award for American exporters.

Over the past decade, Bolte has been instrumental in the strategic development of BDP's global network of wholly-owned subsidiaries and joint ventures in the Pacific Rim, Canada, Mexico, the U.K., South America, the Middle East and Europe. Under his leadership, BDP recently acquired logistics firms in Germany, France, Belgium, and Italy; formed a strategic partnership in Japan and a joint venture in Qatar; and opened offices in China, Dubai, Korea, and the Netherlands. Last year, BDP acquired Elite Group, a Houston-based logistics firm specializing in the chemical industry.

With a keen sense of the importance of information technology in logistics, Bolte championed investment in a unified, Web-based infrastructure that supports all of its core operations, application tools and back-office functions. In addition, he also established an independent supply chain consulting unit, Centrx, to meet the growing demand of multi-national companies for lead logistics provider services, process analysis, and network design.

A graduate of Mount St. Mary's University, Emmisburg, Maryland, where he serves as a trustee, Bolte has completed management development programs at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and the Center for Creative Leadership.  A past president of the World Trade Association of Philadelphia, he also serves on the board of the National Committee for International Trade and is a member of the Council of Logistics Management.
