SINGAPORE and BEIJING, CHINA, October 8, 2008 – BDP Project Logistics today announced the opening of a dedicated office in Beijing.
BDP Projects Logistics, headquartered in Singapore, is a subsidiary
of BDP International, (BDP) one of the world's leading privately-held
freight logistics/transportation management firms. The Projects
company was established to tackle jobs that are so difficult,
so large in scale and complexity that only a specialized team
of experts could attempt them.
The office is the second BDP Projects Logistics office in China,
following the establishment of the Shanghai office in January
this year. According to Peter Huels, CEO of BDP Global Projects
Logistics, the new Beijing office will offer a full suite of
services to companies that need specialist skills for difficult
jobs.
"China has many large and complex projects on the drawing
board in areas such as construction, mining, power, oil, natural
gas and chemical industries," Huels said. "In addition
a growing number of Chinese firms are successfully bidding for
large scale projects in other emerging markets such as Africa
and the Middle East.
BDP has a long established reputation for doing difficult things
well. To be able to complete these jobs we built a team in both
Beijing and Shanghai that think outside the traditional rules
and find solutions where initially there does not appear to
be one."
"Under the leadership of Mr. Jon Leong, the Beijing office
will seek to work with Chinese state owned enterprises, the
majority of which are located in the nation’s capital
city," Mr. Huels concluded.
BDP Project Logistics in China currently consists of 10 specialists
with expertise in heavy-lift handling, break-bulk and dry bulk
shipments as well as customs regulation compliance.
