The operating status of major carriers serving BDP U.S. Air Gateways follows. Please note the status of any airport or individual carrier can change quickly. This information reflects international transportation.

Atlanta:

No Air carrier is accepting cargo or bookings at this time.

New York (JFK):

The following airlines are accepting cargo for freighter service:

  • Korean Airlines is accepting cargo and bookings beyond Sunday.
  • Asiana is accepting cargo no bookings accepted yet.
  • Federal Express will be operating domestic flights only, until at least next week.
  • Lan Chile is accepting cargo no bookings accepted.
  • Varig is accepting cargo for VCP flight on Sunday only.
  • China Airlines is accepting cargo and will take bookings, but no flights are scheduled.
  • UPS is not operating internationally - no schedule available, not accepting cargo bookings.

The following airlines are not accepting cargo as per FAA regulations:

  • Continental
  • American
  • South African
  • Swiss air
  • Air France
  • Lufthansa
  • British airways
  • Pakistan airlines
  • Air India
  • Delta

Chicago:

  • MAS Air Cargo is accepting freight for export via Miami
  • Lan Chile is accepting freight for export via Miami
  • Polar is accepting freight for export orders, possibly on Friday 14, September
  • UPS is accepting freight for export via Miami.
  • China Air s not accepting freight - no schedule information available.
  • Eva is not accepting freight - no schedule information available.
  • UPS is accepting freight.
  • Fine Air is accepting freight for export via Miami.
  • Swiss Air is not accepting freight - no schedule information is available.
  • Lufthansa is not accepting freight - no schedule information is available.
  • Air Canada is not accepting freight until Monday, September 17at 12:00 noon. No schedule information is available.
  • Japan Airlines is not accepting freight.
  • Korean Airlines is not accepting freight- no schedule information is available.
  • Air France is not accepting freight. Possible freighter exports on Friday, September 14.
  • Alitalia is not accepting freight. Possible freighter exports on Sunday, September 16.
  • All U.S. domestic carriers are not accepting international freight at this time.

Miami:

  • All major airlines are not accepting bookings or cargo at this time.
  • Taca,Tampa, Lan Chile, Amerijet, and Staff are accepting freight but without bookings.
  • The airport is open but not accepting flights from foreign carriers until the airlines meet US FAA security requirements.
  • Domestic passenger flights are starting to fly on a limited basis.

Los Angeles:
LAX was expected to re-open at noon (PT), today, September 13.

  • Cargolux will accept cargo from known shippers only at this time, and require signed Indirect Air Carrier Certification.
  • Lufthansa will not accept bookings/cargo at this time.
  • KLM will accept bookings by Saturday, September 15.
  • Air France will not accept bookings or cargo at this time.
  • Asiana will accept cargo for freighters only at this time.
  • Korean Airlines will accept cargo for freighter only at this time.
  • Swiss Air will not accept cargo at this time.
  • British Airways will not accept cargo at this time.
  • United Airlines will not accept cargo at this time.
  • Delta will not accept cargo at this time.
  • China Airlines will not accept cargo at this time.

Houston:

  • Per the airport director, only diversion flights(18) will be scheduled today. Other flights may be able to depart tomorrow.
  • Federal Express will accept freight today but will not flight until tomorrow.
  • Continental Airlines will re-start within 48 hours.
  • Air France will not accept bookings or cargo at this time.
  • KLM will accept bookings, Saturday. September 15.
  • Korean Airlines will accept freight for freighter.
  • British Airways will not accept bookings.
  • China Airlines will not accept bookings.
  • Cargolux for known shippers only.

General Carrier Information:

  • America West: Limited operations from 1500 Eastern.
  • American Eagle and TWA: Limited operations from 1500 Eastern.
  • AMERICAN TRANS AIR: All flights canceled through 1200 Eastern.
  • CONTINENTAL: All Sept. 13 flights canceled.
  • DELTA: Limited operations from 1200 Eastern.
  • NORTHWEST: Limited operations from 1900 Eastern.
  • SOUTHWEST: All Sept. 13 flights canceled.
  • UNITED: Limited operations from 1900 Eastern.
  • US AIRWAYS: Limited operations from 1500 Eastern.
  • Package carriers FEDEX and UPS have not released resumption-of-service times, but both have reported they would be ready to go as soon as the ground stop was lifted and airports are ready to open.
  • Foreign carriers are also planning limited ramp-ups. Several airlines, including AIR FRANCE, SAS, and SWISSAIR were planning limited operations to the U.S. today, September 13.
  • Others, including ALL NIPPON AIRWAYS, BRITISH AIRWAYS, JAPAN AIRLINES, KLM, and QANTAS canceled all scheduled flights.
  • Still others, including IBERIA and LUFTHANSA, said they would try to bring U.S. flights to operational status, but weren't making commitments.
