As of today, Sept 15th, we are at about 50% of our normal schedule. European flights are gradually returning to 100% schedule. Yesterday, 50% of our Europe flights operated.
Today, the only airport that remains closed is Washington, DC (DCA). Boston is scheduled to reopen today, Sept 15th.
Limited cargo is being carried. Those shipments that were already in our system, that is, on hand at our cargo terminals, are being carried to their destination. Military mail, human remains, and medical emergency items: human blood, tissue, and organs, are being carried.
As before, all security measures are being followed regarding these shipments. There is still an embargo on general cargo. We are not accepting cargo or making cargo bookings. As soon as this embargo is lifted, confirmation will be forwarded immediately.
We are gradually returning to our normal schedule. Once we begin accepting cargo, it will be a challenge for all of us to get your cargo to its final destination. We will do everything we can, as best as we possibly can, to assist you in accomplishing this goal.
As we begin to rebuild and return to our daily routine, it is again important to say here that all of us should continue to remember those recovering from the terrible tragedy and also keep in mind those who are in search and rescue activities. It is an emotional time for all concerned and they need our comforting thoughts.
