BDP Air Transportation Advisory from Carrier Partner Lufthansa Cargo

Effective immediately LH Cargo is accepting freight at all US locations to worldwide destinations except Pakistan and Yemen. This applies to freighter aircraft only, with minor exceptions for passenger aircraft (please see point 3 below).
1) General Acceptance - LH Cargo will refuse following shipments at the dock:
- Freight from unknown shippers. All forwarders are to ensure that they do not accept freight from unknown shippers. This is valid for consols, BUPs and loose freight.
- No interline cargo will be accepted
- Damaged shipments
- Personal effects and household goods are embargoed until further notice.
- Shipments without a confirmed booking
- Mark all AWBs with the notation "freighter aircraft only" in the accounting block.
- Once cargo is accepted, if it is retrieved, storage and handling fees will apply.
- Time frames and performance guarantee do not apply until further notice.
- Expect extended waiting times at delivery due to heightened security measures.
- Dangerous Goods can be accepted
- BUPs can be accepted
- Human remains, organs, blood, and tissue.
- Official diplomatic mail and pouches of the US and Germany.
- Material classified in the interests of national security by the U.S. government.
- Our next freighter aircraft operation is planned for Wednesday, September 19, 2001.
- We only accept cargo, which is booked for this freighter.
- Our Account Service Center will be fully staffed and will contact you to verify any already existing bookings.
- The need for accurate and updated bookings is essential. Shipments which differ upon delivery in weight and/or volume from their booking may not be forwarded as originally booked.
