As we have all seen in the news, the airline industry is experiencing unprecedented distress growing directly from the terror attacks of September 11. In light of the severe weakening of confidence among the traveling public and a sharp increase in operating costs including insurance premiums, domestic and international airline carriers have begun to assess a Security Surcharge on air cargo transportation.

We sincerely apologize for offering such short notice on this matter. But as these Surcharges are imposed upon BDP International, we will be compelled to pass them along to our customers. Beginning October 5, 2001, BDP invoices will include the Carrier Security Surcharge on both direct and consolidated air shipments, on a carrier-by-carrier basis predicated only by those carriers that have assessed the added charge.
