May 20-21, 2008
Each year, BDP conducts a full day US trade & security regulations seminar for clients, trade partners, and others. Now in its 19th year, this event is being expanded to two days, bringing international shippers new information and professional guidance on the management of constantly changing regulations and trade laws.
The seminar is led by Gerald McManus, former Assistant Commissioner of Customs for Commercial Operations; Michael Ford, BDP Vice President - Regulatory Compliance and Quality; Adrienne Graddy, BDP Director - Compliance; John Little, BDP Director - Compliance; Melissa Gordon Pinheiro, BDP Manager - Compliance; Tom Helk, BDP Manager - Compliance; and Catherine Muldoon, BDP Global General Counsel.
All seminar participants receive a detailed workbook of seminar presentations and other relevant material. We have also expanded our topics and speakers for this year's event. 2008's topics include: Export Administration Regulations, Cargo Security, Foreign Corrupt Practice Act, Importer Security Filing (10+2), managing restricted parties, new AES regulations, Customs valuation and classification, new BIS regulations, violations, and disclosures, as well as refunds, corrections and prior disclosures.
Recognized by the National Association of Purchasing Management (NAPM), all seminar participants receive eight hours of NAPM certified continuing education credits.
Additional seminars, covering a variety of topics from the basics of import and export business practice to establishing a corporate compliance program, are offered periodically at BDP's Philadelphia headquarters and regional offices. Check this area frequently for updates regarding future conferences.
