Each year, BDP conducts a full day National Regulatory Compliance Seminar for clients, trade partners and others. Now in its 18th year, this event brings international shippers new information and professional guidance on the management of constantly changing regulations and trade laws.
The seminar is led by Gerald McManus, former Assistant Commissioner of Customs for Commercial Operations; Michael Ford, BDP Vice President - Regulatory Compliance; Adrienne Graddy, BDP Director - Compliance; and Melissa Gordon Pinheiro - BDP Manager Compliance.
All seminar participants receive a detailed workbook of seminar presentations and other relevant material. Over 20 different topics have been covered, ranging from Reasonable Care, Harmonized Tariff Classifications, Free Trade Agreements, Foreign Trade Regulations, and including an overview of Hazardous Materials.
Recognized by the National Association of Purchasing Management (NAPM), all seminar participants receive eight hours of NAPM certified continuing education credits.
Additional seminars, covering a variety of topics from the basics of import and export business practice, to establishing a corporate compliance program, are offered periodically at BDP's Philadelphia headquarters and regional offices. Check this area frequently for updates regarding future conferences.
