Advisories ::

BDP Transport carrier partners will meet July 1 maritime security rules

Source: BDP Transport

All BDP Transport carrier partners are in compliance or plan to be in compliance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, global anti-terror rules, which go into effect July 1.

The U.N.'s International Maritime Organization (IMO), which established the ISPS code, says ships without valid certificates may be refused entry to ports, or they may be detained or expelled.

Although the IMO reported that as of mid-June, a sizable percentage of ships had not met the new ISPS requirements, BDP Transport has been in close contact with each of its 18 carrier partners around the world, and has obtained confirmations of intent to be in full compliance on or before July 1.

For more information, contact Jack Bashkow, Director- BDP Transport. (bashkowj@bdpnet.com).

Thank you.
