Insight, education and knowledge in Antwerp

Michael Ford speaking at Antwerp Supply Chain Summit
Vice President of Government and Industry Affairs, Michael Ford, addresses the audience at the Antwerp Supply Chain Seminar

Last week marked the 11th annual BDP Supply Chain Summit in Europe, which was held in Antwerp, Belgium. Our team was pleased to have our largest audience to date, with 180 participants! My bias may be apparent, but from my point of view, it was our most successful event to date.

We had the honor of welcoming many prestigious speakers from all across the industry, including the CIO from the Port of Antwerp, an official from the European Sea Ports Organisation, executives from major air and ocean carriers, many of our esteemed customers, and of course, leaders from BDP International.

Audience members were presented with an array of pertinent industry topics that covered a presentation on EPCA, a case study on carbon emissions, reducing compliance costs, the role of procurement, carrier updates and digital strategy to name a few, with a concluding panel discussion that featured a diverse group of industry leaders reviewing the impending threat of Brexit and what it could mean for the world of supply chains.

We strive to present informative and insightful events and hold these seminars in pivotal markets for our customers. Our goal is to provide an educational forum where industry leaders can congregate, exchange knowledge, and share best practices for mitigating and minimizing disruptions in an industry where interruptions are inevitable.

The world of supply chains is constantly evolving, and it is our duty and responsibility as a solutions provider to evolve with the changes while helping our customers to do the same.

As a planning team, we are constantly thinking of ways to improve the event and enhance the experience for our attendees; we actually begin planning for the next year’s event shortly after the conclusion of the current one.

This year’s attendance is a significant display of the success of our European Summit! We look forward to surpassing this number in 2020.
