June 17, 2019 - Seven days of tariff testimony held by the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) begin today and run through June 25, according to a hearing announcement released Friday. The hearings are a chance for businesses and other organizations to voice opinions surrounding the fourth list of proposed tariffs of up to 25% on $300 billion in Chinese goods.

Trump to meet with China's Xi Jinping at the G20 in make or break trade-war showdown

June 18, 2019 - President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he had spoken with Chinese President Xi Jinping, and that trade negotiations would resume before the end of the month. The comments ease concerns that planned escalations between the largest economies would take place at the end of June.

Volvo's autonomous vehicle to haul DFDS containers to Swedish port

June 14, 2019 - Vera, an autonomous and fully electric vehicle from Volvo Trucks, will soon haul cargo in Sweden from a DFDS logistics center to an APM terminal at the Port of Gothenburg, according to a press release. Vera is a tractor unit that is compatible with existing trailers, Volvo said.

Logistics spending jumped 11.4% on strong economic growth

India increases tariffs on U.S. goods as trade war heats up

June 16, 2019 - India has imposed higher customs duties on a raft of U.S. goods effective Sunday in response to similar measures taken by Washington, according to a government notice. The increased charges have been imposed on 28 products including chickpeas, phosphoric acid, apples, almonds, and walnuts, according to the notice released late Saturday.
