The General Administration of Customs China (GACC) has released announcement No.144  to advise changes in its manifest rules on imports and exports which will go into effect on November 15, 2019.
In order to ensure the smooth progress of the “two-step declaration” business reform, Customs will strengthen the management of water and air transport inbound and outbound manifests, standardize data declaration, simplify data filling requirements, ensure data accuracy, and effectively implement safety access and risk prevention and control mechanisms.
The key adjustments are as follows:
The following data items will be removed from manifest and are no longer a requirement:
- Consignor’s company code
- Consignee’s company code
- Notify Party’s company code
- Name of contact person for Consignee
- Phone number of contact person for Consignee
The regulation is applicable to all import, export and transshipment cargo via all China mainland ports. Please find the original announcement here.
