BDP International Receives ISO 27001 Certification for Maintaining Highest Levels of Data Protection

PHILADELPHIA (November 28, 2017) - BDP International (BDP) has been awarded the ISO 27001 certification — the strictest standard of information security — for ensuring its global import and export customers benefit from the highest levels of data protection.

“BDP’s clients require assurance that their data is secure and private, and that is exactly what we provide,” said BDP Chairman and CEO Richard J. Bolte, Jr. “The ISO 27001 certification is a major step toward protecting the confidentiality and integrity of customer and company information.”

ISO 27001 is recognized as a stringent certification for information security controls, guaranteeing first-class standards for the identification, prevention and management of security risks. BDP attained the ISO 27001 certification after investing in an information security management system, followed by an independent assessment by DQS Inc., a global standards company. The ISO 27001 certification extends to BDP’s online and vendor management services: Tietan, BDPSmart, Cognos, Impax and DMS.

The certification process requires an auditable, comprehensive, international framework for the implementation of an Information Security Management System (ISMS), which is a suite of processes and procedures concerning risks management of information security factors.

The ISMS incorporates widely-recognized best practices for information security management into the organization’s operations. The ISMS ensures BDP’s information security processes are fine-tuned to keep pace with changes to security threats, vulnerabilities and business impacts.
