Qingdao Port is resuming operations for DG Classes 2-6

November 4, 2018 - Qingdao Port Authority recently announced that Qingdao Port (including QQCT and QQCTU) would resume the operations for dangerous cargoes in DG Classes 2,3,4,5 and 6 beginning October 29, 2018. These classes were previously forbidden since August 15, 2017.
 
On November 1, 2018, Qingdao Port Authority released further details, that Qingdao could handle all the dangerous cargoes except for:

  • Class 1
  • Class 2.3
  • Class 6.2
  • Class 7

 

With the November 1, 2018 effective date, shipping liners are preparing to resume the booking for the dangerous cargoes. MSK was the first to announce this, and others are following suit and will be releasing more information in the coming days.
 
With regards to warehousing, under the strict inspection for local Administration Bureau of Work Safety, no warehouse in Qingdao could meet the safety requirement. These DG warehouses are still in the midst of improving their processes to meet standards.
